Al-Furqaan Foundation - Our Story
The story of Al-Furqaan Foundation is one that remains ever-connected with the state of the Ummah.
In the early 2000s, Islam stood in a court of global judgment and Muslims across North America & beyond were compelled to confront widespread misinformation.
It was in this climate that Wajahat Sayeed, moved by a deep sense of responsibility and urgency, recognized that the most powerful response was not argument, but clarity. He saw that The Quran itself — its message, its guidance, its truth — needed to be placed directly into people’s hands. Remaining at the helm as its President even now, Wajahat Sayeed founded Al‑Furqaan Foundation in 2003, inspired specifically by two verses of The Noble Quran:
“So do not yield to the disbelievers, but strive diligently against them with this Quran.” (The Clear Quran®, 25:52 Surah Al-Furqaan)
“Let there be a group among you who call others to goodness, encourage what is good, and forbid what is evil — it is they who will be successful.” (The Clear Quran®, 3:104 Surah Ali ’Imran)
These verses are the heartbeat of our mission.
By Allah’s (SWT) Grace, we now manage over a dozen initiatives, have outgrown our office and warehouse space multiple times, witnessed thousands of Shahadah, and distributed millions of Quran translations.
Today, we find ourselves feeling as though history is repeating itself. Demand for Islamic knowledge has skyrocketed and we are here to humbly serve this timeless call. We pray our efforts are accepted and that they continue to open minds & hearts, by Allah’s (SWT) command.
Al-Furqaan Foundation is recognized as an international dawah organization. We work closely with many national interfaith organizations for the betterment of society. While having continuous focus on self-development and outreach, we paved our place as a leading grassroot organization in the American Muslim community.
Al-Furqaan Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt nationwide dawah organization based in Chicago, IL.

Introducing Islam to Non-Muslims requires lots of efforts and resources. Every one of us does not possess those skills, tools and resources. So it is prudent to do join our efforts and work together. Getting connected with Al Furqaan Foundation will give us both exposure to organizations and individuals, actively educating others about Islam, and Qurans, books and other dawah materials, which can equip us to be more effective in Dawah.
